Some takeaways from the game: 1. There are many combinations of numbers that make ten and this has been a delightful study in getting my brain to quickly engage in simple addition
2. It is possible to have a least favorite number and that number is 4, may it burn eternally
3. I wish there was a version of this game without the timer - like a sort of freeplay mode? I understand that the challenge comes from working within the time constraint, but it would be neat to play around with enough time to really map out my moves and see the "theoretical" score I could have gotten
4. What in the probably-black-magic are some of you doing to get such high scores?????!!!!?!?!? I'm over here struggling to break 200 and definitely never going past the 260s while we've got screen shots of some geniuses getting 700+ Am I...stupid? Is that it? Is there a technique that I'm not privy to? Please upload a little video of you playing, oh mighty number crunchers, that I may learn from your glory...
5. Great game, 10/10 would recommend, absolutely a gem
3. The deluxe version (linked above) has a mode called Plan10, which is exactly what you're looking for.
4. The bigger the selection area you make (even if it's unnecessary), the more score you get. My strategy is to make one huge hold in the grid so I can rack up a bunch of large scoring areas in one fell swoop, but luck is still definitely involved.
SO epic that this was made in just 500 characters! truly a simple game yet producing something that can be more than what one might first assume. Amazing how complex this game can get!

Pretty challenging I like the puzzle aspect :)
New best, yay!
You can find the Commodore 8-bit version here: https://ko-ko74.itch.io/make-10-or-50
I finally did it - I broke 700!
silly and fun! good head scratcher, made me realize i should've taken those 3 grade math classes more seriously!
It's simple, but I play this game every day like I used to play on the gameboy during breakfast or now while I have coffee. Amazing concept.
I've been a bit too obsessed with this game haha, it's honestly such a good game!
can you post a video of a high scoring game? I have a burning desire to improve
I would like to second this sentiment - what am I doing wrong? What can I do better? I'd love to see someone else's play style!
Good Game Concept!
First time over 700, yay!
Just previously get new high score, haven't gotten to 200! (10 Nov 2024)
Just break my own record 10 Nov 2024
First Time I broke 600 points!
Really elegant design! It's actually pretty engaging and fun. The fact that it was made with so few code makes it even more incredible.
Also kudo for the color choices: I'm colorblind and was still able to recognize the relevant pairs! ^^
I love this game, it's really clever and addictive.

Neat game, thanks
