Make Ten Deluxe is an expansion pack that builds on the original Make Ten, featuring 35+ variant modes. Some modes modify the rules slightly in ways that significantly change the flavor of the game, some modes are particularly puzzley situations for you to solve, and some modes are too strange and specific to describe.

There's something for everybody to love: each of the game's dozens of modes were carefully chosen to be interesting, surprising, or otherwise delightful.

Make Ten Deluxe! Featuring...

  • Drop10: Make10 + gravity: new numbers fall from the sky
  • MakeHeaven: Make10 with wildly different RNG
  • Make42: exactly what it sounds like
  • MakeTen: not at all what it sounds like
  • MakeWar: explosions! made of numbers! (does that count?)
  • BlueGoo: Make10 with negative numbers
  • MakeChä̶̝̣́̈́o̴̯͊s̶͉̟͒: ???
  • and many more!

The demo (playable in-browser, above) features a handful of these modes, including a daily mode, a mode with negative numbers, "MakeX", and a mode with no timer and infinite undo. If you're left wanting more, you can purchase the full game below for Linux, Mac, Windows, and PICO-8.

The full game is downloadable, but I haven't figured out how to port it mobile devices yet. I'm hoping to add an Android APK file in the future, and I'll see if there's anything I can do about iPhone support (though that seems unlikely). I hear there are PICO-8 or windows emulators that run on phones -- I'll update this section later when I've done more research.

The whole game can be played with the Left Mouse Button: click and drag to select groups of numbers. If they add up to 10, they'll be removed from the board, increasing your score.

In some modes, you can press Z to undo. You can pause the game with Enter or P. There are volume controls in the pause menu, and ctrl-plus, ctrl-minus, and ctrl-m also control the volume.

As a quick possibly too late heads up for anyone doing the daily puzzles in this today (May 31) is a great day to go for a high score, I cracked 500 on it which I hadn't done in a year or so of playing the original version.

Is there a way to reset the cart as if no-one has played it/unlocked anything? I noticed deleting the game and downloading a fresh copy doesn't seem to do it.

Yup, the save data is stored externally; delete this file to delete your save data and start fresh:

  • Linux: ~/.lexaloffle/pico-8/cdata/pancelor-make-ten-dx.p8d.txt
  • OSX: /Users/YOUR_NAME_HERE/Library/Application Support/pico-8/cdata/pancelor-make-ten-dx.p8d.txt
  • Windows: C:/Users/YOUR_NAME_HERE/AppData/Roaming/pico-8/cdata/pancelor-make-ten-dx.p8d.txt

Great, thank you!

Out of curiosity, does the demo progress carry over into the full game?

Not easily, but it’s possible with a bit of effort. I wrote a script and some instructions to help; leave a comment there or here if something’s unclear or you run into other issues

Okay it took a bit of doing but I got it to work (on my chrome at least it was under index.html, could never find a pico-8 heading anywhere). That seemed tricky to figure out, thanks for taking the time to do so and write it all out :)

I also play the original Make10 a lot, so I feel really happy to see it get a nice polish! The title menu and other features get added, but I love how it still keeps the simple feeling of jumping right into the game!
Among the demos, I like MakeX! I enjoy how the numbers gradually increase and turn into your score—it feels great to play over and over to improve little by little. The way the cleared numbers fall down is fresh compared to before, and it makes the game easier to play.
Make42... Make42!? Make 42!!!!!

What a wonderful surprise! I played the hell out of the original Make Ten and I even made my own version of it (mostly to remove the time constraint and make it playable on mobile).

You created so many different modes, it’s incredible! I wonder how many more modes didn’t make it into the final game, because it seems like you could have come up with at least a dozen more. :) Some of the modes resonated with me, while other didn’t. Some seem deeper than I thought (MakePeace evoked some rather unexpected feelings). It’s a really solid exploration of how far you can stretch one good mechanic.

this is a VERY good game! one thing that's missing and is an absolute must is a message when there are no more possible moves.

16 and 17 shouldnt be rendered in a almost invisible color, it makes me think they arent like tangible numbers when they are

This is so cool!! I love the creativity and variety on display. This is an awesome piece of game design

Love it, so playful! The stickers, juice and many variants introduce just the right amount of meta-progression / toybox discovery magic to hook the player. It feels awesome.

Now I need to find a way to get the full version working on my phone so that I can play in the toilets.

thanks! oh, yes I was meaning to change that – the next update will have distinct colors for “1” and “-1”

Blue goo is genius ! I've already sunk many hours into the original, bought this immediately~
